STARKVILLE, MS (WLBT) - Mississippi State women’s basketball is back in the top 5.

The Bulldogs moved up to #5 in the country in the latest Associated Press Top 25 released Monday. Mississippi State improved to 9-0 on the season with a victory over then-18th ranked Marquette Thursday, their 45th straight non-conference regular season win and their 26th straight victory inside Humphrey Coliseum.

Mississippi State women’s basketball has now been ranked in the Top 25 for 80 consecutive weeks, and in the Top 10 for 44 straight weeks. The Bulldogs play at Southern Miss Friday before playing at #7 Oregon on Tuesday, December 18.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State men’s basketball is ranked #17 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll and #18 in the Associated Press Top 25, both released Monday. The Bulldogs defeated McNeese State, 90-77, and Clemson, 82-71, last week. They host Cincinnati in Starkville on Saturday.
