It’s a colder morning with feels like temperatures in the 30s. Bundle up as you head out today. Otherwise, expect a quiet and cool day with gradually clearing skies. Afternoon highs will climb into the 50s. Tonight, cold air is expected over the area. Clear skies and light winds will set the stage for temperatures to fall nicely. Inland areas will likely see a light to possibly even moderate freeze. A light freeze can’t be ruled out for areas to the south of I-10. Cool and dry conditions continue for Tuesday and Wednesday. And then a rain system arrives for Thursday into Friday. For our region of coastal Mississippi, most rain with that system is expected to fall during the overnight hours: after sunset Thursday and before sunrise Friday, perhaps peaking around midnight, which would lead to only minimal impacts since most folks would be asleep when it’s pouring. Weekend looks mild and dry with afternoons in the 60s.
